Welcome to Candlekeepers

Hey Candlekeepers,

Jonathan Kirk here. I am excited to announce the launch of our new website www.candlekeepers.org. I know some of you have been hearing about this vision already and many of you have been praying that God would give us direction and wisdom. If this is your first time hearing about this, I want to personally invite you to join us in praying for this dream to become a reality. As I look out at the landscape of our local churches, I find myself growing ever concerned. I know of four churches in Greene County who just in the past few weeks have found themselves without a pastor. The need to raise up godly leaders is obvious.

‘You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.
— 2 Timothy 2:1-2

Without strong leadership, our churches are in danger of losing their light. Candlekeepers exists to keep the light of the gospel burning one church at a time. We will accomplish this mission through three primary strategies. First we will build teams modeled after Paul’s missionary journeys in the New Testament. Each team will commit to a local church in need to establish a firm foundation and train up leaders for the future. In addition to developing leaders through these teams, we will also provide resources in the form of articles, messages and training courses.. These resources will be available for individuals and local churches to use free of charge. Finally, we will develop partnerships with people like you who can bathe this work in prayer and give financially to see this vision become a reality. I hope you’ll consider becoming a candlekeeper.
